How do I activate my account?
For Author by Humana members, visit login here and follow the step-by-step instructions we’ve prepared. You’ll need a valid email address to create your online account. After you enter your information, we’ll ask you to confirm through your email. Once confirmed, you'll be asked to agree to the terms and conditions to use our online service in order to activate your online profile.
As an existing Humana member, do I need to create an account on AuthorbyHumana.com?

How do I change my email address on my account?
You can change your email address by logging in here and clicking on Member Profile, or you can call a Care Coordinator to do it over the phone.
If you are updating your email address AND it is also the UserID you use to log in to your account, there will be a few extra steps to ensure your account information and privacy. Once you save your changes, we will send an email to your new email address. This confirmation email will only be valid for 15 mins, so be sure to check it right away and click the link in the email. If you do not receive an email confirmation or the link has expired, please try again or contact a Care Coordinator for help.
How do I delete my account?
To delete your account, call a Care Coordinator at 1-833-502-20121-833-502-2012 (TTY: 711) and request to delete your account. Please note that we are required by law to maintain your information for up to 18 months after your account has been deleted.

When do my plan benefits begin?
Your Humana [HMO/PPO] Plan benefits begin on January 1, 2021.
When do I get my Member ID card and plan materials?
Once we’ve completed your official enrollment in your plan, we’ll mail out your Member ID and other helpful plan materials. You can expect these to arrive in about 5-7 business days. Current or renewing members will receive a new Author by Humana ID card before January 1. This new ID card will look similar to your old Humana member ID card, but will include “Author by Humana” on the top and new contact information on the back.
If you asked us for a printed copy of a specific document (for example, a Provider Directory), please allow up to 10-15 business days for it to arrive.

The Care Finder tool on our website lets you search for doctors, hospitals, pharmacies, and more. Use it to find out if your doctor is covered by your plan and to explore all your options. You can always call a Care Coordinator if you have questions

Our website has a For Members section that gives you easy online access to many plan documents. If you’re looking for more specific information directly related to you, logging in to your online account here will give you a more personalized view.
